Thanksgiving Baby

Little Bit turns 1 on Saturday. I mailed the invitations late. I don't have decorations. I don't have a cake. The only thing I do have is the outfit she'll be wearing. It's a good thing I thrive under pressure. Wish me luck.

Edit: The cake and cupcakes have been ordered. Now all I need are the decorations. Whew!

Let me tell you about New Moon.

Our night started around 8:00 at Outback Steakhouse. Terri and I had dinner, chatted about random nonsense and walked around Target to kill time. For the record, I spent $100 killing time. We headed to the theater a little after 10:00 to meet up with Brittney, Natalie and Nicolette. We were there for less than 15 minutes when they started to seat the first group. I'm glad we got there when we did. We ended up with excellent seats. We talked. We laughed. We took pictures. We purchased caffeine so our eyelids wouldn't droop. As the lights dimmed a little after midnight, the squealing started.

Everyone who follows my blog knows I've always been an Edward girl. After seeing New Moon, I've thought about switching teams. Jacob stole the show with his charm, his smile and his rock hard abs. It's all we could talk about after the movie was over. It may have even sparked an entire Facebook conversation. "Are we sure he's only 17?"

I went in with high expectations. The movie didn't disappoint. There were a few things I would have changed, but that's always how it is after you've read the book. Overall, I loved the movie. I can't wait to see it again without any distractions.

After we exited, we grabbed some random chick to take a group picture. Somehow, we managed to look mostly awake. I got in bed a little after 3. I ended up sleeping 11.5 hours the next night. I guess I'm getting old when I need that much sleep to recover. Regardless, I would do it again. Actually, I'm pretty sure I'll be doing it again in June.

Ladies, let the countdown to Eclipse begin.

I'm too exhausted to tell you about New Moon.

I didn't get in bed until after 3. I had to be up at 6:30 for work. I had a fabulous time, but the details and pictures will have to wait until later. My brain simply cannot function until I have a nap.

It's almost New Moon time!

In 1.5 hours, I'll be having dinner with my girls. In 4 hours, we'll be standing around in the cold.

In 6 hours, I'll finally be seeing New Moon.

When Mom and I met Sela Ward

My mom and I were big fans of the tv show, Once and Again. It was cancelled after only three seasons.

Did anyone else watch it?



Sela Ward, the actress who played the mom, was in town for a book signing. We thought it would make for a fun mother-daughter outing, so we headed to Davis-Kidd Booksellers for a chance to meet her. It was fun until it was our turn to get our books signed. My mom looked at Sela and said, "You are so skinny. Do you eat?"

"Hello."

"It's so nice to meet you."

"I loved Once and Again."

"I can't wait to read your book."

"You are so skinny. Do you eat?"

SERIOUSLY, MOM?!

If I remember correctly, Sela didn't respond at all. She smiled politely, signed our books and thanked us for coming. I was mortified. Thanks, Mom. I'll never attend a book signing with you again.

Michael Jackson, This Is It

I finally saw This Is It on Saturday night with my girlfriends. Michael Jackson was an amazing singer, dancer and entertainer. At 50, he hadn't lost the skills he had at 20. Even though he didn't live to see it, I know he'd be happy with his final performance. The film was both electrifying and uplifting since it didn't focus on Michael's death, but instead on his talent and love for the world. I left the theatre with a little more joy in my heart.

Famous basketball star, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, announced he has been battling cancer for nearly a year. The sports legend and father of five came forward with his diagnosis after learning that many patients do not regularly take their medication and tend to skip out on doctor's appointments. Get well soon, Kareem.



Those Twilight kids, Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, were photographed holding hands before boarding a recent flight to Paris. What do you think? Are they together or not?



Joe Perry says Steven Tyler is leaving Aerosmith. Steven Tyler says he's not leaving Aerosmith. It doesn't really matter. Without Steven Tyler, there is no Aereosmith. It's just a bunch of old guys in a band without a lead singer.



Britney Spears has angered Australian concertgoers with her lipsyncing ways. Several fans paid upwards of $1300 for tickets. If you pay $1300 for concert tickets, you're dumb. If you don't know Britney Spears lip syncs, you're really dumb.

Tiffani Thiessen, the actress who played Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell, is pregnant with her first child. If it's a boy, I think she should name him Zachary Slater. It has a nice ring to it.



After falling in love with her $35,000 breast implants, Amy Winehouse wants a matching set of cheeks. Butt cheeks, that is!



Taylor Swift owned the CMA Awards on Wednesday. She won all four awards for which she was nominated, including Entertainer of the Year. At 19, she's the youngest artist to nab this title.



Mike Tyson punched a photographer at LAX. If prosecutors find Mike guilty of violating his probation, he could spend up to five years in jail.
