I've been ruined.

I haven't been able to truly fall in love with a book since Twilight. I've tried and failed a couple of times. I'm currently reading Dune Road by Jane Green. It's my first read of the new year. (Yes, I know how sad this is.) I've read and loved all of Jane's books, so I'm hoping this one can get me out of my reading funk.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I cannot find another book that I get into quite like the Twilight series. It makes me sad :(

Meyer needs to get to work & write some more damn books!

Oooh! Excited to see how it is. I had planned on doing a books of 09 post, but uh - that never happened. And I want to post about the books I've read this year, but it just keeps passing by. What's this current book about? Have you tried Hunger Games? I'm on book 2 and cannot put it down. That's how the first one was, too. Oh, and can I just say I am LOVING your new blog design. Classy and SO cute - I am totally in love with it! I've been having the itch to change mine around these last few weeks, too - I just don't know what I want...

Have you read her book THE HOST? That might take the edge off.

You may not be interested in this at all but if you like YA urban fantasy relationship-y books. There's THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS? HUNGER GAMES? HUSH, HUSH? THE DARK DIVINE?

I'll stop there, I could go on forever. But if you go to my blog under "BOOKS" label there are some more ideas that might fall under the "Twilight" category.

Will you still come to my blog if I tell you that I've never read Twilight? But I am going to check out Jane Green because of you. Even Steven?

Try the Mortal Instruments series. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. They were really good.

Have you read anything of Marian Keyes' stuff? We just read one for book club. I loved it even though I'm so not usually a chick lit fan.

A few book suggestions...
-The Hunger Games, and the sequel Catching Fire
-Libba Bray .. there is a 3 book series by her that I couldn't put down til I finished it.
-City of Ashes, City of Glass, etc. I didn't think I'd like them, but I fell in love.

Good luck!

That is really unfortunate.

I agree with the suggestion to try the Hunger Games series. I love those. Of course, the third book isn't out yet, but the first two are great.

I LOVE LOVE Jane Green. :)
Have you tried the Charlaine Harris Vampire series?? Sookie Stackhouse. I actually have the first one of the series if you want it, I could send it to you and you could see if you like it. It's not Twilight, but still...then you'd have quite a few books to read, I think she has 9 in the series out right now.

I know what you mean! I have not begun reading Breaking Dawn so.... I was about to buy The Blind Side to try to not fall into "never wanting to read anything but the Twilight saga over and over again" but I couldn't do it!!!!!
Someone did suggest to me to start the True Blood books.

Have you read "Outlander" (or "Cross Stitch" depending which country you're in) by Diana Gabaldon? I've found lots of people that love Twilight love it too.

I hear ya. I haven't fallen in love with the same level of passion that I had for Twilight. I'm reading the Sookie Stackhouse books now, the inspiration for True Blood. So far it's more funny and campy than anything. It's not the way Twilight made me feel at all.
There's another series I do like a lot, it's kind of fun-The Summoning is the first book. It's a little bit younger than Twilight, but it's a good read. Let me know when you find something that brings about the passion of our Edward and I'll be at the bookstore so fast you'll think I was a vampire.

I have to agree with this! I just keep reading the series over and over...I'm not sick of them yet, but what am I going to do if I ever do get sick of them?! :)
