iLove Tuesday Tunes
You Oughta Know

Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill is one of my favorite albums. I still know the words to every song. This June marks the cd's fifteenth year in existence. It's hard to believe it's been that long. I remember the clubs playing You Oughta Know. All the girls would run onto the floor and sing the lyrics as loud as they could. No other song showcases Girl Power quite like this one.

And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

Really 15 years! Wow I feel old..lol I also LOVE that album and still know all the words too. It's one of those albums that is still as good today as the day it was released. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :)

Jagged Little Pill was one of the best albums ever! I loved that CD. I remember screaming my heart out with Alanis!

But 15 years ago?! Couldn't be! That's just insane...time flies WAY too fast.

I loved this album too...and I still do. It's on my ipod :-)

But 15 years? I guess you are going to say that the Fugees album featuring Lauryn Hill is also that old? I am in denial...denial I tell you!!!

Thanks for making me flash back to my high school days....I think I almost threw up. But, this is an amazing cd! I don't think I have any alanis on my ipod right now. For shame.

Excellent pick! This was actually one of the very first cds I ever owned and I wore that b*tch out!

And this particular song is so fun! Is it weird that I kinda feel like a badass when I get to scream "..and are you thinking of me when you F*CK her?" while I'm jamming out in my car?? You don't have to answer that.. ;)

I'm not an Alanis fan.

However, I love seeing you tweet Chelsea. I totally tweet all of them and probs bug the crap oout of them. I've only managed to get a response back from Heather (duh), Sarah Colonna, and Brad Wollack. And I don't think Brad was happy with me.

Oh no. I just realized that I used to sing this in the car with my mom, including the part where she says "Would she go down on you in a thea-ter?" even though at the time I didn't even know what that meant. Great. Now I am mortified.

That album is my angry girl music go to! When I've had a bad day I roll down the windows in my car, blast the music, and sing as loud as I can.

I wonder if she sings that about Ryan Reynolds now. I so thought they were mismatched looking.

I just found your blog by seeing your button on another blog. You had me at the title handbags and handguns. Love it!
I loved, I mean loved, the jagged little pill album. It came out when I was in high school and was the perfect album to go along with teenage angst. I still love it and could still sing pretty much every word. This is a great meme. I may have to play along.

Personally I think the acoustic version is better...

She's psycho in the original but it's more of a raving lunatic type psycho...

In the acoustic very she's more controlled and kinda creepy like she's more plotting and devious...
