Wild Weather Weekend

It rained. It stormed. It rained and stormed some more. The tornado sirens went off in our area at least twenty times in forty-eight hours. We've had bad weather before, but nothing quite like this. We were lucky. Many people were not. One of my coworkers can't get into her house because the flood waters are too high. It's in the center of a cove and sits a little higher than the rest. She's hoping and praying the inside is dry. I can't even imagine.

Let me say it again. We were lucky.

I watched this on the news and it was so scary! Where do you go when you have a tornado? Do you have a basement? I'd be screwed. We don't have basements around here. Much.

I can't believe how horrible that weather was last weekend. I eventually got to where I just tuned the sirens out. Living right next to a fire station, they're pretty loud at my house though. Can you believe my kids slept through all of it?

I hope you continue to be okay, and I hopefully relief is on the way for those that are struggling!

I hate it when the tornado sirens go off. We live on solid rock and couldn't have a basement or storm shelter if we wanted one. Well, if we had a bazillion dollars we could.

I was worrying about you guys all weekend. I'm so glad you're all okay and that your house is okay!

I have a few blog-friends that can't get into their homes right now and I just can't even imagine.

If that pic is of the skies in your area, then all I can say is SCARY!
I love me a wild thunderstorm, but those storms out your way look devastating! Glad to hear you are hanging tight!

So scary! I'll live in the earthquake/volcano area of the country over tornadoes and hurricanes any day. Glad your family is ok.

Dang... and I thought snowstorms in May were bad (we're expecting another one to come through tonite) but no sirens go off and no homes blow away. That's scary!!! Hope that weather passes!

i'm glad you and your family are safe, but i'm so sorry to those whose homes were affected. hurricane ike hit houston in sept. 2008 and the devastation as loss of homes was terrible. bad weather is scary, scary stuff!

This past weekend was one my nerves didn't need. I'm glad you are OK - it was crazy here in Alabama but nothing compared to poor Nashville and parts of TN. Breaks my heart.

Nothing freaks me out more than the tornado sirens, minus maybe an actual tornado. I spent half my Saturday night in the bathroom w/ my boyfriend and pets near freak out tears. I am not normally that freaked so that made it worse and brought more tears.
