Old School Week
Miscellaneous

You get a mix of pictures with short descriptions today because I'm sick. Again. Little Man caught some nasty cold-virus-type-thing. He gave it to Little Bit. Now, I have it. It's seriously the worst cold I've ever had. I maybe slept 30 minutes last night. I couldn't breathe. My face hurt so bad including every single one of my teeth. Tylenol finally helped alleviate the sinus pain and pressure. However, the sneezing and snot haven't eased up. I'm sorry if this is TMI, but just know that I feel horrible.

Here I am with my mom and dad. I'm probably around 2 years old in this picture. As you can see, my dad has quite the nice tan going on. He could go into the sun for 5 minutes and come back inside looking like this. My dad's side of the family is Cherokee. Even though I look like my dad, I did not get his skin. It's so unfair.

I was probably 17 in this picture. I'm sporting my Jennifer Aniston haircut. I know I just said I didn't have my dad's skin. It's still true. This tan took many hours in a tanning bed to achieve. I was quite proud of my flat belly so I often wore shirts like this. Looking back, all I can do is laugh. I apologize for the carpet and furniture combo.

One of you asked earlier in the week if I ended up cheering in high school. I did. The original school I cheered for closed when I was in 7th grade. My coach started his own independent cheerleading company. I begged my mom to let me cheer for him, but she said no time and time again. She was sick of the practices, the events, the traveling, and all of the competitions. I eventually tried out for my new school's squad and cheered the last two years of high school. Here I am senior year with my boyfriend Keith. I was 18. He was 16. The senior girls went through a short phase of dating younger guys. There's a reason this phase was short. We were stupid.

This is my best friend Kelly and I at the Sports Awards Banquet senior year. This banquet was low key, casual and held in our school's gym. Every athlete received some sort of plaque. There were additional plaques and trophies for MVPs, record breakers and those who were most improved. I'm pretty sure I went on a first date with a guy named Roy this same night. We'll skip that part.

You can tell we're both 90's girls. I have belly shirts like that and also the "baby doll" type dresses. We rocked, dude. :)

Oh, "The Rachel!" I love it and these are not embarrassing at all. No fair! Nothing like, oh, I don't know, my sundress and Doc Martens phase. Ugh. The seniors in my school dated younger kids too. We were so bored of the guys in our class we'd known since elementary and there were no upperclassmen to date anymore.

Hey if you've got it flaunt it! I wish I'd rocked more belly shirts when I was in high school and had rock hard abs...sigh.

Your high school boyfriend was a cutie, I can see why you picked him. I can also tell he looks like a goofball which I bet got old real fast! Those younger boys...

Oh my. I need to dig some of my old pics up from high school. You'll enjoy them since we graduated the same year.
If only it were so easy to attain the flat stomach now as it was then.

You have always been gorgeous, my dear! I see so much Little Bit in that first picture!

Love that Jennifer Aniston 'do. I totally went through that hair stage myself.

We had that same carpet and chair combo. My mom updated our kitchen to a salmon color and felt she was oh so trendy and cool. She still has those ugly ass plates.

I'm happy to report that FACS has improved the cheer uniforms since then.
