iLove Tuesday Tunes; I'm Real

When I listen to my iPod, I usually have my tunes on random. I heard this old school gem while driving the other day. Many people think Jennifer Lopez can't sing. I'm not one of those people. I have loved every single one of her cds. This is one of my favorites. What the hell ever happened to Ja Rule?

Dianna's dress is very Gone With The Wind.
Rutina's dress is definitely different. I love her shoes though.

Stephanie's dress looks like a shirt that needs a pair of jeans under it. I want her shoes too.
Betty White is still kicking it in her 80s. She can do no wrong.


Glenn Close, Toni Collette

Both of these dresses are blah and boring. And what's with the color?


Kris Jenner, Lauren Graham, Kristen Wiig

I think Kris would have looked better in a solid than this print.
I didn't like Lauren's dress at first, but it grew on me. Besides, she's so pretty.
Kristen's dress is yet another that had a little something extra that ruined it.

I wouldn't wear Tina's dress and probably wouldn't like it on anyone else, but she owns it.
Lily, 70, proved that you can look stylish while wearing something age appropriate.

Jennifer's dress is so pretty and original. It looked great on tv.
I don't normally like gold dresses, but this one rocks. The black belt completes the look.


Sofia Vergara, Wanda Sykes

I adore both of these women.
Sofia's dress is pretty, but I'm not sure I like the color on her.
Wanda looks fabulous. Work it, girl!

I love this shade of blue on January, but don't love the dress. It's a bit whack-a-doo.
Mary looks like a mermaid wearing leis.

I'm not loving Julia's frock. Plus, she should have done something different with her hair.
Jessalyn's dress is simple, but pretty. The color works for her.

Jenna always wears dresses like this. Why can't she wear something with straps and a shape?
Maura looks great in this color. The dress is simple, but beautiful.

Christina always gets it right when it comes to her curvy frame.
I don't know if this is Amy's color, but I've got to give it to her. She just had a baby 3 weeks ago!
I like that Emily's dress is adorned with flowers. It stands out in a good way.

Kate's dress isn't flattering at all... the color or the style.
Emily's dress looks like a flapper and florist designed it. I'm not digging the harsh bangs either.

This week was definitely a long one. Our family of four has been sick since Monday. {sneezing, coughing & fever} We're slowly getting better. So, how have you been? I'm a little behind on your blogs. Whoopsie!

I've been trying to finish Mockingjay since it came out on Tuesday. First, the kids were sick. Then I got sick and couldn't keep my eyes open. Now, The Hero is sick in bed so I'm chasing the kids around the house. I guess I'll get to it when I get to it.

Old School Week; The Finale

What can I tell you about this picture? I went on a road trip with my BFF Kelly to Selmer, Tennessee. If it sounds like a hick town, that's because it is. I was wearing this cute striped tank you see with some super cute khaki bootcut corduroy pants and brown zip-up ankle boots. I had borrowed the tank and boots from Kelly. {It was nice having a bestie with the same shoe size.} Moving on... The drink in my hand was undoubtedly a fruity wine cooler. The ring on my index finger was my senior class ring. I still have it around here somewhere. I wore it on my index finger because I didn't want to be like all the other girls. My hair was pulled back like it often was. I remember pulling it up this night because it was hot and humid. We were inside and outside a lot. I remember the house we were at having a porch swing. I didn't know the people who lived there, but Kelly did. It was actually my first time meeting every single person there that night. I feel like I'm forgetting something, but I guess that's it.



Oh, wait. I remember now.

This is also the night I lost my virginity.

WHAT?!

Old School Week; Fake Prom(s)

Since I attended a private high school, we didn't technically have a prom. It was basically the same thing, but the school dubbed it Jr./Sr. Banquet. There was a sit down dinner, a slideshow and some cheesy awards given to the seniors by the juniors. We had an "underground" dance sponsored by the parents at a second location. The school knew about it, but didn't want their name associated with dancing.

I was supposed to attend the banquet with my boyfriend junior year. He accepted a job as a lifeguard and started training the very night of my fake prom. I was so mad. I'm pretty sure I ignored him for a few days. I rode to the banquet with the girls in the first picture below, Kelly and Jamie. Lesley eventually met up with me at the dance. {I only have one picture of us together, but I'm saving it for later.} When the girls picked me up, I had to squeeze into the backseat of Jamie's tiny car. I immediately ripped the slit of my dress. We're talking full on Britney Spears crotch shot. Thankfully, I was wearing panties. I started out with safety pins in my dress, but eventually took them out. I don't remember much about the banquet. I was so anxious to get to the dance so I could show off my hot boyfriend. We danced for hours. I specifically remember getting down to Brass Monkey. When the night was over, my dress was pretty much shredded because it proceeded to rip more and more. My dress had an oriental print on the front. I wore black and crystal chopsticks in my hair. This night was officially the best night of high school.






Senior year's banquet wasn't nearly as fun. I went with Kelly and Becky after Kelly decided for the both of us that we wouldn't be taking dates. We were supposed to go with two college guys. She said we should go alone. She was really holding out hope that Nic and Adam would ask us. In the end, all four of us went alone. {Stupid!} I was bored most of the night. Plus, the date of one of the guys I went to high school with wore the exact same dress I was wearing. {Mortified!} It was an ok night. At least I looked super cute.
