iLove Tuesday Tunes; I'm Real

When I listen to my iPod, I usually have my tunes on random. I heard this old school gem while driving the other day. Many people think Jennifer Lopez can't sing. I'm not one of those people. I have loved every single one of her cds. This is one of my favorites. What the hell ever happened to Ja Rule?

Now people lovin' me and hatin' me, treatin' me ungratefully
But not knowin' that they ain't makin' or breakin' me
My life, I live it to the limit and I love it
Now I can breathe again, baby, now I can breathe again

2010 Emmy Fashion; Best Overall Look

Claire Danes

1. The dress fits.

2. It's beautifully crafted.

3. The color looks amazing on her.

4. Her hair and makeup are flawless.

I've loved Claire since My So-Called Life.

I don't think I'll ever not love her.

2010 Emmy Fashion; The Rest

Dianna Agron, Rutina Wesley

Dianna's dress is very Gone With The Wind.
Rutina's dress is definitely different. I love her shoes though.

Stephanie Pratt, Betty White

Stephanie's dress looks like a shirt that needs a pair of jeans under it. I want her shoes too.
Betty White is still kicking it in her 80s. She can do no wrong.

Glenn Close, Toni Collette

Both of these dresses are blah and boring. And what's with the color?

Kris Jenner, Lauren Graham, Kristen Wiig

I think Kris would have looked better in a solid than this print.
I didn't like Lauren's dress at first, but it grew on me. Besides, she's so pretty.
Kristen's dress is yet another that had a little something extra that ruined it.

2010 Emmy Fashion; Ooh, Shiny!

Maria Menounos

Does anyone else think it's funny when a journalist has a better dress than most of the actresses?
I really liked this dress until she turned around.
Like quickly turned to {love}!

Tina Fey, Lily Tomlin

I wouldn't wear Tina's dress and probably wouldn't like it on anyone else, but she owns it.
Lily, 70, proved that you can look stylish while wearing something age appropriate.

Jennifer Westfeldt, Heather Morris

Jennifer's dress is so pretty and original. It looked great on tv.
I don't normally like gold dresses, but this one rocks. The black belt completes the look.

Sofia Vergara, Wanda Sykes

I adore both of these women.
Sofia's dress is pretty, but I'm not sure I like the color on her.
Wanda looks fabulous. Work it, girl!

2010 Emmy Fashion; Colors of the Rainbow

Keri Russell

Keri looks adorable in this color, but the dress doesn't seem to fit the event.

January Jones, Mary Hart

I love this shade of blue on January, but don't love the dress. It's a bit whack-a-doo.
Mary looks like a mermaid wearing leis.

Julia Ormond, Jessalyn Gilsig

I'm not loving Julia's frock. Plus, she should have done something different with her hair.
Jessalyn's dress is simple, but pretty. The color works for her.

Jenna Fischer, Maura Tierney

Jenna always wears dresses like this. Why can't she wear something with straps and a shape?
Maura looks great in this color. The dress is simple, but beautiful.

Christina Hendricks, Amy Poehler, Emily Blunt

Christina always gets it right when it comes to her curvy frame.
I don't know if this is Amy's color, but I've got to give it to her. She just had a baby 3 weeks ago!
I like that Emily's dress is adorned with flowers. It stands out in a good way.

Kate Flannery, Emily Deschanel, Jane Lynch

Kate's dress isn't flattering at all... the color or the style.
Emily's dress looks like a flapper and florist designed it. I'm not digging the harsh bangs either.
Jane's dress looked beautiful on tv. This picture isn't doing it justice.

2010 Emmy Fashion; Cute Couples

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer

Eva Longoria & Tony Parker

Brooke Burke & David Charvet

Ty Burrell & wife Holly

Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick

Jennifer Carpenter & Michael C. Hall

Michael Emerson & Carrie Preston

Jimmy Fallon & wife Nancy

Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson

Jon Hamm & Jennifer Westfeldt

Anna and Stephen are so cute together.
Carrie's hair matches her dress. I don't like this.
I couldn't help but wonder if Jimmy's wife is preggers.
Even though they play brother and sister, I love Jennifer and Michael together.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are still going strong. I don't know what she's wearing though.

2010 Emmy Fashion; Black, Black & More Black

Kelly Osbourne

First of all, Kelly looks amazing.
Look how thin she is!
Also, I would totally wear this dress.

Kathy Griffin, Julianna Marguiles

I'm not digging either of these. Blah.

Heidi Klum, Anna Paquin

Heidi looks great as usual, but the dress seems more suited for a party.
Oh, Anna Paquin! I don't even know what to say.

Kate Gosselin, Angela Kinsey, Edie Falco

These are all pretty boring.
Kate's is especially bad because it has no shape.

Eva Longoria, Mindy Kaling, Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Eva looks flawless and the dress has beautiful details, but I feel like she always looks the same.
Mindy looks like a goth chick going to an 80's prom.
Julia looks fantastic. I love the jewels she chose to go with the dress.

2010 Emmy Fashion; The Boys of Summer

Let's take a break from the ladies, shall we?

Alexander Skarsgard

Hello, pretty!

Jesse Tyler, Eric Stonestreet

Modern Family is one of my favorite shows. I love these guys.

Peter Facinelli, Chris Harrison, Ryan Kwanten

Peter looks yummy. I love his light shirt and tie combo.
Chris looks ok I guess.
Ryan is such a babe, but he looks better when he's clean shaven.

Cory Monteith, Ed Helms, Jon Hamm, Sam Trammell

I only have one thing to say. Sam Trammell's sexy.

2010 Emmy Fashion; Not Quite White

Aren't these titles clever?

Jewel, Nina Dobrev

I didn't like Jewel's dress at first, but it photographs really well. I approve.
Nina's dress is pretty, but would've looked better without the slit. It looks a bit off.

Mariska Hargitay, Elizabeth Moss

Both of these ladies look great, but I'm not digging either dress.

Sarah Hyland, Cheryl Hines

I love it when women wear age appropriate dresses, but these are boring.

2010 Emmy Fashion; Quite White

Rose Byrne, Kim Kardashian

I love that these dresses have an Egyptian vibe.
I'm glad Kim went with something out of her comfort zone.
Rose looks ok, but the hair seriously ruins it for me.

Julie Benz, Brooke Burke

I love Julie's overall look. (dress, jewels, sleek ponytail)
Brooke's dress is another that I'm not that impressed with. The shoes are hot though.

2010 Emmy Fashion; In The Navy

If you love celebrities, awards shows and fashion...

you're in the right place.

{This is the first of many posts.}

Padma Lakshmi, Jayma Mays

Padma's dress isn't ugly, but it isn't special either.
Jayma's dress is ok, but I can't help but think it got caught in a shredder.

Jane Krakowski, Lea Michele, Julie Bowen

Lea always gets it right. I love her dress and bling.
I love Julie's dress. It's different without being over the top or weird.
Jane's dress would have been perfect without the unnecessary side poof.

Old School Week; The Finale

What can I tell you about this picture? I went on a road trip with my BFF Kelly to Selmer, Tennessee. If it sounds like a hick town, that's because it is. I was wearing this cute striped tank you see with some super cute khaki bootcut corduroy pants and brown zip-up ankle boots. I had borrowed the tank and boots from Kelly. {It was nice having a bestie with the same shoe size.} Moving on... The drink in my hand was undoubtedly a fruity wine cooler. The ring on my index finger was my senior class ring. I still have it around here somewhere. I wore it on my index finger because I didn't want to be like all the other girls. My hair was pulled back like it often was. I remember pulling it up this night because it was hot and humid. We were inside and outside a lot. I remember the house we were at having a porch swing. I didn't know the people who lived there, but Kelly did. It was actually my first time meeting every single person there that night. I feel like I'm forgetting something, but I guess that's it.

Oh, wait. I remember now.

This is also the night I lost my virginity.

WHAT?!

Old School Week; Fake Prom(s)

Since I attended a private high school, we didn't technically have a prom. It was basically the same thing, but the school dubbed it Jr./Sr. Banquet. There was a sit down dinner, a slideshow and some cheesy awards given to the seniors by the juniors. We had an "underground" dance sponsored by the parents at a second location. The school knew about it, but didn't want their name associated with dancing.

I was supposed to attend the banquet with my boyfriend junior year. He accepted a job as a lifeguard and started training the very night of my fake prom. I was so mad. I'm pretty sure I ignored him for a few days. I rode to the banquet with the girls in the first picture below, Kelly and Jamie. Lesley eventually met up with me at the dance. {I only have one picture of us together, but I'm saving it for later.} When the girls picked me up, I had to squeeze into the backseat of Jamie's tiny car. I immediately ripped the slit of my dress. We're talking full on Britney Spears crotch shot. Thankfully, I was wearing panties. I started out with safety pins in my dress, but eventually took them out. I don't remember much about the banquet. I was so anxious to get to the dance so I could show off my hot boyfriend. We danced for hours. I specifically remember getting down to Brass Monkey. When the night was over, my dress was pretty much shredded because it proceeded to rip more and more. My dress had an oriental print on the front. I wore black and crystal chopsticks in my hair. This night was officially the best night of high school.

Senior year's banquet wasn't nearly as fun. I went with Kelly and Becky after Kelly decided for the both of us that we wouldn't be taking dates. We were supposed to go with two college guys. She said we should go alone. She was really holding out hope that Nic and Adam would ask us. In the end, all four of us went alone. {Stupid!} I was bored most of the night. Plus, the date of one of the guys I went to high school with wore the exact same dress I was wearing. {Mortified!} It was an ok night. At least I looked super cute.

Did you go to your prom?

Was it fun?

Tomorrow marks the end of Old School Week.

You won't want to miss it.
