Jonesin' for Twilight

I know I can’t be the only one suffering from Twilight withdrawals. A girl can only watch Twilight and New Moon so many times. {Oh, who am I kidding? It never gets old.} I really need Eclipse to hurry up and come out on DVD. December 4, 2010 can’t get here fast enough. Until then, I thought I’d share some pictures of our favorite Twilighters. Enjoy!

Are you missing these guys as much as I am?

New Favorite TV Shows

Remember when I said I watched a lot of tv? Well, I'm still doing that. It's just a lot harder these days. I usually watch my shows at night when the kids go to bed. I also catch up on weekends. There are my old favorites with some new shows thrown in. I've given up on two that didn't hold my interest, but there are two that I absolutely love.

Mike & Molly
These two have great chemistry, and the one-liners are hilarious.

Hawaii Five-O
These two fellas also have chemistry. And, well, they're hot.

What are your favorite shows this season?

The birthday party that almost fell apart.

We ended up with a total of thirty-one people at Little Man's fifth birthday party. There were thirteen kids including the birthday boy. After 70+ days without rain, Memphis was hit with thunderstorms and showers the day of the party. I was down in the dumps about it. We had planned for outdoor activities and rented a moon bounce. I was afraid the party would be a disaster with that many people in my small house. Surprisingly enough, the kids were happy to run around, jump on our indoor trampoline and play with Little Man's toys. They filled their bellies with cake and ice cream. They smiled. They laughed. They played. And then, thirty minutes before the party was supposed to end, the sun came out. In the end, I think the day couldn't have gone any better. What do you think?

I'd like to thank Terri from Peace, Love & Applesauce
for making the most awesome cake ever.

The Talk of Tinseltown; The 9:30 PM Edition

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana welcomed another girl into the family. Stella joins big sisters Isabella, Gia and Alexia. I hope Matt hangs out with George and Brad from time to time because that's a whole lot of estrogen in one house.

Céline Dion gave birth to twin boys on Saturday. Céline and her husband, René Angelil, have been open about their struggles with infertility. She conceived the twins after her sixth in vitro treatment in about a year. The two also have a 9-year-old son, René-Charles.

People Magazine is reporting that Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal are dating. Well, I didn't see that coming. Then again, Jake does seem to have a thing for southern blondes.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand got married in India on Saturday. I'm not a big Katy Perry fan, but I do love Russell. May they live happily ever after!

Brett Favre has finally confessed to leaving this chick voicemails while he was playing for the New York Jets. He denies the penis pics are his though. It's really a case of dumb and dumber. He sends sexy texts and voicemails. She ignores them. When she isn't in the spotlight anymore, the messages and pictures end up all over the news. I'm thinking they both feel like asshats right about now. I don't have empathy for either of them.

Mel Gibson was set to appear in The Hangover 2. When news broke of his cameo, the public was outraged so the execs decided to replace him with Liam Neeson. A source close to Gibson said, "He doesn’t understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance while he was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance." Mike Tyson was a drug addict AND bit someone's ear off. I am in no way supporting Mel Gibson's behavior, but the man has a point.

Speaking of Mel Gibson, his baby mama Oksana Grigorieva turned down $75,000 to pose in Playboy. I know men love naked women, but does anyone really want to see her without her clothes on?

Halloween Decor On A Budget

Money has obviously been tight around here since I was without a job for almost five months. Now, when I'm finally making money again, I still have to adhere to a budget since the next couple of months are full of events. In October, we have Little Man's birthday and Halloween. In November, there's Little Bit's birthday and Thanksgiving. In December, there's my mom's birthday, The Hero's mom's birthday and Christmas. So, I decorated for Halloween as cheaply as I possibly could. Here's how I did it.

I got the fabric pumpkins at Target for $2.50. My niece brought the real pumpkins over with some stickers so the kids could decorate them. The one with stickers is Little Man's. The naked pumpkin belongs to Little Bit. She decorated it then proceeded to tear all the stickers off when she was done. I've been finding them around the house for a week.

This pumpkin was purchased when we visited a local pumpkin patch. We bought two pumpkins and a hayride for three for $9. Not bad if I do say so myself. I found the Happy Harvest sign at Hobby Lobby for $4.99. The sign above it read HALF OFF. You can't beat that.

I picked this banner up at Target. It hangs above the windows in our kitchen. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it was inexpensive.

I bought window clings at Dollar Tree. I bought three pages for... $3. These are also in the kitchen.

This is our mantle in the living room. I didn't have a lot of space to work with since our flat screen is up there. Little Man was playing his Harry Potter game when I took the picture.

Miss Witchypants was $1 at Dollar Tree.

Mr. Frankenstein Face was also $1.

Here's the other set of fabric pumpkins I grabbed at Target for $2.50 next to a baby picture of Little Bit.

This is the other pumpkin we purchased at the pumpkin patch next to my husband's first fire helmet.

These candy dishes were in the dollar bins at Target. Score!

These towels were also in the dollar bins at Target. They came as a set. Little Bit takes them down all the time. I find them in the oddest places.

Can I just say how much I love the dollar bins at Target? This cute Halloween rug was also only ONE DOLLAR. Little Bit runs off with this too.

This is our front door. The witch was $4.99 at Target. When I turn the outside light on at night, she kind of glows because she's glittery. I also put a couple of window clings up there to keep her company.

Here's a closer look.

So, that is how I decorated my house for Halloween on a budget. I think it turned out pretty nice. Simple, but nice.

Now, I'm off to clean my dirty house so I can get ready for Little Man's birthday party tomorrow. I'm expecting 33 people. Please pray for me.
