GlassesUSA.com Review

I don't know if I've ever mentioned that I wear contact lenses, but I do. I had to get my first pair of eyeglasses when I was in first grade. I remember the day my parents found out I failed the eye exam. They thought I must have been acting up during the test because there was no way I couldn’t see. My dad scribbled something on a sheet of paper and stood across the kitchen from me. He asked me to tell him what was on the paper. My parents were stunned when I couldn’t say. He slowly walked towards me until I could see the giant letter ‘D’ he'd written in black ink. The page looked blank to me from several feet away. So, I got glasses.

After breaking the same pair of glasses three different times in seventh grade, my mom finally let me get contacts. As an adult, I don't wear glasses very often. Ok, I never wear them. One reason is because I have a huge complex and hate to wear them. The other reason is the cost. Contact lenses cost me around $60 for a six month supply. I know I should wear glasses more often, but my taste in designer glasses is expensive. The stylish pairs I like are well over $200. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend $200 on a pair of glasses that will never last me more than a year. Yes, my prescription changes every year. If yours doesn’t, lie to me and pretend it does.

I’ve never purchased glasses online, but GlassesUSA.com has some great deals that are hard to pass up. They have men's and women's designer eye glasses online at discount prices. They have round glasses, rimless frames and retro eyeglasses in case you want to throw back to the 70s. They even have a virtual mirror where you can upload a picture of yourself and see what you’d look like wearing their frames. How cool is that?

For your glasses frames needs, GlassesUSA is offering Handbags & Handguns readers a 10% discount on their next order with the code, Mommy10.

I have worn glasses since I was in the 3rd grade. I HATE THEM! However, I have never been able to wear contacts. It's the whole touching my eye issue.

I wish I had known about this company on Monday! My daughter was just given the news that she now needs glasses. Our insurance is fairly good though, eye exam, lens, and frames were only $80. She's actually excited about getting them. Let's see how long that will last!

I've worn glasses since I was in 3rd grade. I remember my first pair were these enormously huge purple framed glasses. Holy crap, what was I thinking? After that, I got a bit more sophisticated navy blue pair...but they were equally enormous.

Love the pic!

Mimi did a post about this website earlier this week. I'll have to check them out!

Wow! Look at you! So freakin cute!

I've never worn glasses but my husband is telling me I need to go have a real eye exam. I've never had one. He swears I squint sometimes. I wouldn't mind a cute pair of reading glasses, though it seems to be my far away vision that is getting worse.

Getting a eye exam is on my list of things to do this year.

Dang, I think you're wearing my grade 2 glasses!! I had the same pair. Uggggh I hated glasses and finally got contacts in grade 9 (praise Jesus!) I SHOULD get the laser eye surgery because after wearing contacts for almost 20 years I really should give my eyes a break. But I'm scared!!!!! I'm also super blind (BAD vision) and i'm scared to make it even worse then it is by botched eye surgery. Ridic i know!

I think I need to check this out. I am in need of a new pair of glasses. I wear my contacts but lately they are driving me nuts and they are a little on the spendy side. My eyesight also changes every year.

Love the pic!

I wore glasses in Kindergarten and turned to contacts at around 13. 3 years ago I had lasik surgery and it was the best thing I've ever done!

Pretty sure that I had those glasses in second grade. Were those cranberry tinted lenses? Yeah I still want to beat the lady who told me that the cranberry tinted lenses would look so neat on me. I wear contacts now and usually have a spare pair of glasses. I agree though that glasses are so expensive! I have a really cool BEBE pair but for some reason they are lost somewhere in the abyss of my house!

I love that picture of you! I found out I needed glasses when I went to get my driver’s permit. They have you read a line letters and I couldn’t read any of them. My mom was just like, “Read it! What’s wrong with you?” Hahaha. I had to wear my glasses a lot during pregnancy because my eyes were so dry and my contacts wouldn’t stay in.
