The Royal Wedding; Mad Hatters

What can I say? The English like to wear interesting hats. Here are a few from today's global event. What do you think of this tradition? Do you like any of the hats? Do you have a favorite? Least favorite? Let it all out in the comments.

Personally, I think if everyone else is doing it, the weirder the better...

Being a born and bred Kentuckian, I love me some big ol' hats (a la Kentucky Derby)!!

I love your comments :)

Well - not surprisingly - I love a hat, especially at a wedding!

Love most of the ones above actually - altho not Chelsey Davy and the 3 women around her.

I also can't stand Tara PT (in the electric blue) - in your last row of photos with her sister (opposite Bea & Eugenie). Very odd that she has literally destroyed her nose with cocaine use but wore a hat that pointed directly at it!! Go figure!!

Chelsey Davy's whole outfit could have been worn by her grandma - pretty girl, terrible choice of outfit!

Can't stand Victoria Beckham but I did like her hat :)

Huge fan of hats, although for me most of these are waaaay out there! lol My favorite is the second hat at the top! Super cute, but still really elegant and not weird. :) Very classy. :)

Love the hats! Or fascinators as they are called in England! I thought most of the hats looked great! Except for Prince Andrew's daughters. Now that was just hideous

The one on the very bottom right. That thing scares the shit out of me.

I liked some of the hats. I usually like the elegant, smaller ones, and I'm definitely a sucker for netting. Can't stand the big hats, and wtf is with Fergie's daughters with their lack of fashion sense!?! They definitely inherited their mother's garishness. Blah.

I love it. I love the history, the ritual and the expectance. Most are gorgeous, however, Andrews girls need to be shot.

OH man, I LOVED THE HATS! I love that some are out there, though I probably wouldn't wear anything too, too. But what a great tradition!

My favs are anything with netting & I acutally kinda dug the black turban one with the big flower. Kinda out there & cool!

P.S. Didn't love the queens though it was bright yellow & had roses on it, it seemed strangely masculine. Maybe because of the "top hat" shape?

We do like odd hats I agree! I found some of the positioning of the hats quite extreme - like right on the forehead as if they had fallen forward. I am sure fashion commentators will look back in years to come and say how the hats for this wedding were soooo 2011!! They were making a statement. Our prime minister's wife didn't wear a hat and that is being heralded as a faux pas - she should have done. I was shocked how she didn't as it looked so conspicuous that her head was bare! Of the ones here I wonder what went wrong with Chelsea's?! Not a good look. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie - hmmm abit too severe. I like the wide brimmed 1940s ones...there were some lovely examples. Very fitting! Lou x

I loooooved the hats!

My faves were the first one (black), the one worn by Sophie (navy blue, asymmetrical saucer with the bows on top, Camilla, and the lady above Camilla with the blue flowers.

I liked Beatrice's hat as well... definitely a risk, but it looked great. Too bad her makeup was horrific.

There were 3 blonde sisters you didn't include (cousins of William, I think) who had incredible fascinators as well.

I think they are all trying to give props to Lady Gaga.
I am not a fan of this silly little tradition of theirs.

I HATED that blue hat that looked like a canoe! Hated it! And, last I checked, hats went on your head, not your face. What's up with that?

I think they are all Goofy.....but I do have my fav and least fav.

I like the black wrap one with the big Orange flowers. Love it, its pretty!

But the royal blue canoe one on the forehead is sooooooo STUPID and Ridiculous looking. And the last one Beatrice or Eugenie (with the forehead bow) is also so flippin ugly!
I think its hilarious that some wear them on the side of the head and some on the forehead.....STUPID!

OK, so I am quite possibly the only person in the world who has not seen the much anticipated event (it is in my DVR, I just haven't made the time), but thanks to all of your posts, I'm feeling pretty caught up. So thank you for that!

Oh, and for the record, I totally agree with everyone who has said that Princess Beatrice and Eugenie do look like the evil stepsisters... Oy vey!

I think it's one of those kooky, yet cool traditions- but some people take it to far. I think, a hat belongs on your head, perhaps to the side, NOT on your forehead.... I adore the soft pink one above Joss Stone's picture, and I did like Joss Stone's hat. That's it :)

It almost seems like more people are focusing on the weird hats, then Kate (or Catherine's) wedding Dress! That alone, makes me wonder why they do it?

I wish hats were a thing here in the States. I mean, weird? Sure. But they're fun and different and can really make a statement.

I love the tradition of hats! I did not like the blue forehead hat though or Beatrice and Eugenie's hats. Poor girls...ugly names and ugly hats.

you know that saying "she looks rode hard and put up wet". That's what I think every time time I see Harry's girlfriend.

I kinda like the hats. Not all of them, such as Beatrice. Wow!
