The Royal Wedding; Mad Hatters

What can I say? The English like to wear interesting hats. Here are a few from today's global event. What do you think of this tradition? Do you like any of the hats? Do you have a favorite? Least favorite? Let it all out in the comments.

Personally, I think if everyone else is doing it, the weirder the better...

The Royal Wedding; The Guests

There were 1900 invited guests.

Here's a small sampling.

The Prime Minister & his wife
She's being trashed for not wearing a hat.
One website said she's wearing $60 Aldo shoes with her Burberry dress.
Well, at least they're cute shoes.

L - Chelsy Davy
Chelsy is Prince Harry's on-again, off-again girlfriend.
She's wearing an Alberta Ferretti dress and jacket.
I think she seriously underwhelmed with the dress and hat.

R - Joss Stone
This is a very different look for her.
I love the pink.

L - Ben & Marina Fogle
I love her green dress, trench and hat.
Why did he choose a blue tie?
They don't match.

R - John & Sally Bercow
I don't like the dress, and her hat is too small.

R - Princess Mathilde & Prince Phillipe of Belgium
Wow. That's a lot of blue.

L - Prince Albert II of Monaco and Miss Charlene Wittstock
Charlene is engaged to Albert so she'll be Monaco's next Princess.
I don't love her hat.

L - Ian Thorpe
I think he comes in 2nd behind Mr. Beckham for Best Dressed Man.

R - Elton John & David Furnish
I didn't love Elton's yellow vest and purple tie.

L - Lady Helen Taylor
I don't know who she is.
She's really pretty.
Her dress and shoes seem to age her tremendously

R - Nick Clegg & Miriam Gonzalez
I have seriously fallen in love with this look.
The hat, the dress, the shoes, the lipstick... Duh, winning.

L - Autumn Phillips
If she were anywhere else, I wouldn't like this.
She really pulls it off.

R - Princess Maxima of the Netherlands
It looks like she got the lace memo.
I love the color.

The Royal Wedding; Prince Harry

Growing up, I was always Team William. Now that the boys are older, I've switched to Team Harry. He's one cute ginger. Either way, I think their mama raised two fine Princes.
Any Princess would be lucky to have them.

Ever since this morning, the internet has been abuzz with people wanting Harry and Pippa to get together.
I'm sure the odds are slim, but how cute would that be?

The Royal Wedding; The Family

Catherine's brother & mom
James & Carol

L - Prince Charles's sister
Princess Anne

R - Prince Andrew & Sarah, Duchess of York's daughters
Princess Eugenie & Princess Beatrice

L - Prince Charles
R - Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

The Queen & her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

Carol Middleton, The Queen & Camilla whatever-her-name-is (not important}

Prince Charles
Catherine's parents, Michael & Carol

Thoughts:
Beatrice and Eugenie certainly look different.
Princess Anne looks just like Prince Charles, which is unfortunate.
Speaking of Prince Charles, he's aged a lot these last few years.
I really liked seeing The Queen in yellow.
Everyone in Catherine's family looks adorable and happy.

The Royal Wedding; The Beckhams

Unfortunately, I have errands to run. The rest of the Royal Wedding posts will have to wait. For now, I'll leave you with a look at David and Victoria Beckham.

David looked sexy dapper in Ralph Lauren. Victoria's dress and clutch are from her clothing line. The hat is Philip Treacy. The shoes are Christian Louboutin.

The critics think she underwhelmed. I completely disagree. I think she looks beautiful and demure.

Well, beautiful and demure with kick ass heels...

Are you too distracted by David to even care about what she's wearing?

The Royal Wedding; Pippa Almost Stole Kate's Thunder

Catherine's sister, Pippa, was the Maid of Honor.

She looked amazing in this Alexander McQueen gown.

Don't you think Pippa looked fantastic?

The Royal Wedding; Catherine's Dress

Let's start off with the dress since that's what I was most looking forward to. When Catherine stepped out of the doorway and into the car, the world got their first glimpse of the dress. All I could see was lace, long sleeves and a v-neckline. I was instantly impressed. {I totally cried.}

As we all know now, the dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. Miss Middleton worked closely with Burton in formulating the design of her dress. It's made from hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace. She wore matching shoes by Alexander McQueen. {I want to see a picture of the shoes!} The train is over six feet long. She wore a Cartier Halo tiara which was given to the Queen by her mother when she turned 18.

I'm not a lace kind of girl, but Catherine looks absolutely stunning. She wore a dress that looks both vintage and modern. Did anyone else immediately think of Grace Kelly? She definitely looks like a Princess marrying her Prince.

Were you a fan of the dress?

The Royal Wedding is here!

I set my alarm to watch. I awoke a little before 3 CST. The wedding will start in less than 20 minutes.

I'm squealing like a little girl.

I'll have a full recap later today.

Congrats, Duke William and Duchess Catherine of Cambridge!

Down in the Bloggin' Dumps

I try to blog daily, Monday through Friday. For a while, I scheduled almost every post in advance. Lately, I just haven’t been feeling it. I haven’t wanted to read blogs. I haven’t wanted to put posts together. Considering the number of comments I’ve been getting, I’m starting to think it’s a worldwide epidemic.
In case you didn't know, I have a full-time job outside of the home. I can't use the internet to blog at work. {For shame!}

Even though we have two computers at home, I can never seem to get on one. The Hero is usually on the laptop while Little Man plays games on the desktop. When I can finally steal one of them away, I’m too tired to bother.

I have a house to keep up. Unfortunately, magic and sparkles do not keep our house clean and the laundry put away.

I have tv shows to watch and books to read. Every night, once the kids are asleep in bed, I relax with a show or book. I make sure I get me time every day even if it’s only 30 minutes.

It’s hard to be cheerful and funny when all you really want to do is break stuff and scream obscenities because certain things in your life are frustrating and out of your control.
All of these things aside, my blog is an outlet. It’s a place where I can vent, laugh, tell a story, get feedback, and share the love with others. I’m thankful for this place. I’m thankful for the friendships. I’m thankful for everything I have here. Just know that even though we might be on a break, I’m never too far away.

So, what's been keeping you so busy?

The Talk of Tinseltown; Desperately Seeking Susan

Things seem to be heating up between Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz, Penelope Cruz’s brother. The two have been spending a lot of time together, vacationing in hot spots all over the world. I’m so jealous. I can’t remember the last time I went on vacation.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian tied the knot at a private estate in Malibu on Friday. The two were engaged for approximately four months. I don’t have much to say about this because I don’t really care.

Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 120 days in jail for violating her probation. In addition to jail time, she will have to serve 480 hours of community service. After sentencing on Friday, Lindsay was immediately taken into custody. Since she was charged with a misdemeanor, she was able to post bond almost immediately. She’s due back in court on May 11th for a pretrial hearing.

Universal has officially chosen Jeremy Renner to take the lead in the upcoming film, The Bourne Legacy. He will be playing a spinoff character NOT Jason Bourne. I won’t run out to see this in the theater, but will probably watch at home. I’m not hating on this as much since he’ll be taking on a new character. Matt Damon is Jason Bourne, period.

Susan Lucci will soon be out of a job since All My Children is going off the air. Susan is said to be securing herself a spot on Desperate Housewives. According to sources, her contract with ABC secures her another job with the network. I could totally see this. Mrs. Lucci definitely has what it takes to live on Wisteria Lane. What do you think?

The Talk of Tinseltown was brought to you today by...

Russell Crowe

Project 52; Update #3

I can't believe this is only my third update. Not only have I been slacking on my list, I've been slacking on keeping you updated. I'll try to do better.
1. Read 30 books. (7/30)
I read two more books bringing my total to seven.

The Help, Kathryn Stockett - 4 out of 5 stars
Switched, Amanda Hocking - 4 out of 5 stars

If you'd like to keep up with what I'm reading, you can follow me at Goodreads.

2. See 8 movies in the theater. (2/8)
On Friday night, The Hero and I talked my mom into babysitting so we could go to the movies. I picked Scream 4. I don't particularly care for gory movies, but I can handle suspense. Besides, these movies are over-the-top cheesy. If you've seen one Scream, you've seen them all. It's the same story again and again with new people to kill. I laughed. I covered my eyes. I yelled at the actresses on tv. "Why are you running up the stairs, you dumb bitch?" It wasn't spectacular, but it was exactly what I expected.

I also really really really want Courteney Cox and David Arquette to get back together. He's her lobster.

5. Go to the gym at least 3 days a week.
I guess it's as good a time as any to let you know this hasn't been happening. Like, not at all... #fail

6. Keep an exercise log.
I've been a lazy bum for weeks and weeks. I had a moment over the weekend when I realized I needed to get off my ass. Today marks Day 1 of the 30-Day Shred. I plan on keeping a log which will include what I eat and the exercises I complete. Wish me luck!

7. Be bikini ready by May 1 June 1.
I've pushed this back because May 1 isn't feasible. I don't need to lose weight, but I do need to trim and tone. If I watch what I eat and exercise, this can and will happen. If it doesn't, I'll just change it to July. (Duh.}

19. Watch 20 movies from my Netflix queue. 2/20
I have been slacking on my at-home movie watching because I have so many tv shows to watch. This should pick up when my shows are on summer hiatus. So far, I've only watched two. I give both of these two thumbs up.

43. Take more pictures.
I'm definitely winning at this one. I've taken a ton of pictures with my camera and iPhone.

45. Tear out everything in my flower beds and plant new stuff in the spring.
I wanted to do this. I asked my husband to help me. I asked his fellow firefighter and buddy to help me. No one helped me. The ugly bushes and shrubs are still there. I guess we could still pull them up, but it would have been easier in the winter when they were mostly dead. #fail

How are you coming along on your 2011 goals
