Even though the cast is stellar, I didn't go into The Avengers with high expectations. I feel like Christopher Nolan has set the bar so high with the Batman films that no one else can hang. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. From start to finish, this film is action packed and full of laughs. The cast was not only exceptionally good looking, but also exceptionally talented. I may have even fallen in love with the bad guy. {Another Fun Fact: Hotpants™ loves a good bad boy.} Seriously, Tom Hiddleston is brilliant as Loki. You've got Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett Johansson. What can I say about this group? Samuel L. Jackson is, well, Samuel L. Jackson. He's just one cool mofo. Robert Downey Jr. is one cocky SOB and pretty easy on the eyes. I prefer Chris Hemsworth over Chris Evans, but I wouldn't kick either out of bed. Mama likes. I absolutely loved Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. The Hulk kicked some serious ass. Jeremy and Scarlett are also great.

The Avengers made over $200 million this weekend giving it the biggest box office opening ever. It actually beat out the last Harry Potter film. If your man wants to take you, I suggest you go. You won't be disappointed. I give this one two thumbs up and three whistles for extreme hotness. What? It's a real thing.
And, just in case you were wondering, I haven't jumped ship.
I'm still Team Batman all the way!

Ok...So I could have written your entire first paragraph myself...except i DIDNT get to go! Ugh...damn man and his laziness. Who the hell wants to watch a super hero movie at home for the first time?!?! It HAS to be seen on the big screen...I'm seriously considering going by myself at this point just because..well I can. And I might have to fight you for the title of biggest Batman fan...;-)
Man, I am Team Batman all the way too, but I absolutely NEED to see this movie. Better believe hubs will be getting an earful until we then!
I'm doing it! A Hulk/Thor/Iron Man (1&2)/Captain America marathon! I can't believe I haven't seen any. Then I'll have to wait for The Avengers because Jacob's seeing it with friends this weekend. I will be seeing Batman in the theater though! He's my favorite.
Do you know why Mark Ruffalo is in this instead of Edward Norton?
Thor...mmmm....
I'm gonna take my kiddos to see it this weekend. :o)
My bestie and I really want to go see this, but are thinking we need to go back and watch any of the individual film predecessors we may have missed first.
I SO want to see this movie. I can't wait.
Two of my boys saw it this weekend, but they wont' let me go until I finally see Thor and Captain America. stupid kids.
I LOVED it! Some of the stuff that came out of Robert Downey Jr's mouth made me cry I was laughing so hard.
Cannot wait to see it!
You are SOOOO right. Some movies are just made for the big screen...not the same effect at home...unless you are my BIL and have a humongous tv set and it's STILL not the same. My middle son and I hit the drive in every summer also. He's moving in January so this is our last summer (sniff)....we go through the list of movies due out every summer and rate them as drive-in, theater, DVD. Can't wait to see Avengers. It's at the DRIVE-IN!
Mark = BEST. HULK. EVER!
This movie blew my mind and I loved it! I also love when people clap and laugh and express themselves during movies {at the appropriate time, I don't need to hear teen girls swooning or gossiping mid movie though}. Chris as Captain America is awesome. I HATED him when he was in Fantastic Four he got under my skin but since seeing him in this and a recent movie with Anna Farris I'm back on his team.
I can't wait for Batman, that trailer gave me chills! And oddly enough I'm really excited about Expendables 2... yes, I said it. :)
Two things I don't know if Christina will check back to this comment but they chose Mark over Ed because it's a completely different production company/director/etc. And I also heard rumors that Ed was difficult to work with. That being said Mark is 100% meant to be the Hulk.
AND if you watch any of the other movies before seeing this one be sure to watch Thor, it has the most info that to me was needed for this film to make the most sense. :)
I'm glad to hear it was good. I was so disappointed by the second Ironman. It just wasn't good for me, and I loved the first one. Was Coby Smuthers (aka Robin from How I Met Your MOther) in it? I heard she would be.
I really enjoyed the movie, but I don't know. I didn't love it as much as everyone else. It felt like a little *too* much, I think.
Although they FINALLY got the Hulk right!
