2012 Project 52; Update #1

Since January is coming to a chose, I figured it was time for a Project 52 update. Can you believe I actually have some items crossed off my list?

5. Read 25 books. 3/25
I read the first three books in the My Blood Approves series by Amanda Hocking. They're a really easy and cheesy read about vampires. So, of course, I love them. I'd like to give a shout-out to my friend Ginger for lending them to me on my Nook for the free.

6. Watch 15 movies from my Netflix list. 8/15
I lowered my number from last year because I totally slacked off on at-home movie watching. I don't think I'll have any problem meeting the new goal since I've already watched eight movies at home.

Surprisingly enough, none of these were horrible. Red was entertaining enough, but I expected more with such a great cast. The Ides of March was slow, but good. I love love loved the others. {For those of you that don't know what Paradise Lost 3 is about, you can click the link which will take you to the Wikipedia page.}

25. Take a day off from work and spend it with my mom.
Two weeks ago, my mom and I spent our day off together. We had lunch at Chili's then got massages and facials at our favorite day spa.

26. Eat at 3 new restaurants. 1/3
The Hero and I took the kids to a Mexican restaurant his parents had been raving about, El Mercadito. We didn't love it or hate it. It was just ok. The service was excellent though. I don't know that we'll go back. Most of the Mexican restaurants around here have the same menu. We'll probably stick to our favorites.

36. Get a massage.
37. Get a facial.
I usually get one massage and facial per year. It's better than nothing, but I'd love to go more. My face looked and felt great after the facial. The massage I could almost do without. I think it's the massage therapists I've seen. They've all been a little rough with me. Don't they know I'm fragile? Also, I really think I'd prefer a male massage therapist. One that looks like, you guessed it, Gerard Butler.



What can I say? Sparta's been on my mind lately.

Let's start with the obvious.

I ♥ Emma Stone.

I love that she's wearing black.

I love that the dress is a shorter, flirty length.

I love that the whole look is gorgeous & edgy at the same time.

Yet again, her hair & makeup are flawless.

Love the pink lips!

The clutch has a gold skull & horses. Fierce!

Now, let's talk about the heels.

Ruffles on the toe.. Ruffles on the heel.. Ankle straps & tiny gold buckles..

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Let me say it once again.

Viola Davis in Marchesa

I don't usually love white dresses, but on Viola... perfection.

I love the gold detail on the bust.

I love that her accessories are understated & match perfectly.

Her hair looks great too.





Dianna Agron in Carolina Herrera

I love love love this color on Dianna.

Even though this dress isn't new & different, it still works.

Her simple hair, makeup & jewels complete the look.





Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein

I don't know that I would have liked this dress on anyone else.

I think Jessica is so beautiful.

For a redhead, she pulls off this blue nicely.

The glam hair and earrings are great.





Sofia Vergara in Marchesa

I appreciate that Sofia knows what works for her and sticks with it.

If I'm being honest, I would have loved for her to surprise us.

Regardless, she always looks amazing on the red carpet.

She picked another winning dress.

The jewels & clutch really complete the look.





Michelle Williams in Valentino

Michelle makes my list of favorites even though I don't love the whole look.

First off, her makeup looks flawless. She has such a pretty face.

I love 3/4 of the dress. Why didn't it go all the way to the floor?

I think what I hate most is the shoes she chose. If your shoes are going to show, they need to be hotter.

Regardless, she still looks better than half the people who walked the red carpet.

Even though Jennifer's red dress is short & simple, I love it.
I love that Jane's dress has pockets.

I get that Kyra has an amazing body at 46, but are cutouts really necessary?
