2012 Cannes Film Festival Fashion

I've been a bit behind on blogging, as well as celebrity news and fashion. My days and evenings have been filled with work, baseball, cleaning, laundry, errands, and events. Someone graduated from Kindergarten! Since I have a lovely 3-day weekend, I plan to catch you up on a little of this and a little of that. Up first, we have a few of my fashion favorites from the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

She looks absolutely amazing.

Wow! Kristen looks stunning in this red dress.
Her makeup looks great too.



Diane Kruger in Nina Ricci
I really like this dress even with the flower adornments.
It's just so very Diane.





Eva Longoria in Emilio Pucci & Marchesa
Eva killed it in both of these looks.
She photographs well, doesn't she?



Jada Pinkett Smith in Atelier Versace & Alberta Ferretti
I don't love everything about the dresses, but the colors are great.



Doutzen Kroes in Elie Saab & Cheryl Cole in Stéphane-Rolland
Doutzen's green gown is really pretty.
I like that Cheryl's dress stands out in the crowd.



Freida Pinto in Salvatore Ferragamo & Jessica Chastain in Herve L. Leroux
I love both of these fun, casual Cannes looks.

The Ladies of Wisteria Lane

On Sunday night, I said goodbye to a few of my favorite ladies. In eight years, I never missed an episode of Desperate Housewives. Believe it or not, The Hero and I watched this one together. If I had to guess, I'd say it's Eva Longoria who got his attention early on. I can't say I blame him though. She's pretty hot. Besides, I might have had a slight crush on Mike Delfino. {He can snake my drain any day.} There was never a dull moment on Wisteria Lane. Sunday nights just won't be the same without the housewives.

2012 Project 52; Memphis Redbirds

The company I work for put together a family night event at AutoZone Park, which is where the Memphis Redbirds play. If you're not familiar with the Redbirds, they're our minor league baseball team. Since The Hero was off on Saturday, I figured it would be the perfect time to take the kids to a game. Neither had been to a sporting event in a stadium. I knew they'd love it. Plus, it was fireworks night and everything was paid for. Who can say no to that?



8. Go to a live sporting event.

The Redbirds may have lost, but we certainly didn't. Our evening consisted of a few small rain showers, wet seats, BBQ nachos, hot dogs, sodas, cotton candy, jumping, clapping, yelling, cheering, dancing, laughing, socializing with coworkers, fireworks, and two kids who didn't complain once about wanting to go home. I'd call that a S-U-C-C-E-S-S!

2012 Met Gala; Piece de Resistance

Sofia Vergara, Marchesa
I've said it many times before. Sofia knows what to wear for her body type.
The dress is gorgeous. I love the color.
She looks fabulous!


Kristen Bell, Tommy Hilfiger
Kristen doesn't wow me very often, but I really like this dress.
She looks great.


Katharine McPhee, Ellie Saab
I should have known this was an Ellie Saab gown.
I love love love this dress.
Katherine looks killer in this style and color.


Nina Dobrev, Donna Karan Atelier
I wouldn't wear this, but I think it looks really pretty on Nina.
I also like that it's different.


Solange, Rachel Roy
Solange is rocking the hell out of this bright yellow dress.
I like that the dress is simple since the color is so bright.


Ashley Greene, Donna Karan Atelier
Normally I don't like dresses with the weird falling down sleeve thing going on.
I think I love this because Ashley looks so amazing in white.


Dianna Agron, Carolina Herrera
What's not to love about this dress?
It's my favorite of the night.
The color is fun and pretty.
Dianna's flawless hair and makeup complete the look.

Anja Rubik, Anthony Vaccerello
I think her bandages are falling off.


Amy Adams, Giambattista Valli
The gold lamé bow ruins the dress.
It would have been prettier without it.


Elizabeth Banks, Mary Katrantzou
There's just way too much happening here.
It looks like a rich kid's paper mache project gone wrong.


Victoria Justice, Alexander McQueen
I was surprised to learn this dress is McQueen.
I don't like it because it's just too floral.
I'm weird like that.


Florence Welch, Alexander McQueen
This is just too strange.
The color works with her red hair though.


Gwyneth Paltrow, Prada
This seals Prada's fate for me.
This is an apron.
And Gwyneth forgot to wear clothes under it.


Chloe Sevigny, Miu Miu
Chloe loves to wear odd frocks.
This one's no different.


Beyonce, Givenchy
Most of Beyonce's dress is sheer.
Apparently there was a tiny wardrobe malfunction
and her buttocks made an appearance.


The dress could have worked if it left more to the imagination.

I'm so over the strapless mermaid look.


Julianne Hough, Carolina Herrera
Girlfriend needs some color on her lips. She looks washed out.
I love the touch of black on the dress.


Heidi Klum & Emma Roberts, Escada
I like both of these.
Emma's is a tad wrinkled though.


Emily Blunt, Calvin Klein
The dress is simple, but I like it.
It's a pretty color on Emily too.


Diane Kruger, Prada
A Prada dress I almost like...
I just wish it didn't fit like a loose tank on top.


Kate Bosworth, Prada
Kate is so pretty, but I wish she'd eat a couple burgers.
I like the colors of the dress.
Her makeup looks good, but I'm not sure what I think of the matching lipstick.


Jessica Chastain, Louis Vuitton
I like the color, but that's about it.


Lea Michele, DVF
Lea really irks me.
The dress is too shiny and shows too much chest.

Leslie Mann, Nina Ricci
I prefer this color on brunettes.
The dress is also a little too frou frou for me.


Leighton Meester, Marchesa
I'm too distracted by her tan to even care about the dress.
Learn how to self-tan properly or skip it altogether.


Jessica Biel, Prada
I think it's official. I don't like Prada gowns.
Jessica Biel is so pretty.
She's engaged to a hottie who can dress.
Why does she always pick such strange dresses?
Yes, strange.
Also, the bangs aren't cute.


Claire Danes, J. Mendel
I like the top half of the gown, but not the bottom half.
I love the nude lip with the white though.


Paula Patton
This is a great color for her skin tone.
I don't personally love this style of dress, but she looks fab.


Scarlett Johansson, Dolce & Gabbana
Scarlett is another celeb I just don't get when it comes to fashion.
She's a knockout.
The dress isn't great.
Her hair isn't either.
