Four Days of Fun

My boss gave me an unexpected two days off with pay. I plan to enjoy every minute of this 4-day weekend.

This morning, after dropping the boy off at school, we enjoyed a yummy breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

Tonight, I'm going to dinner with some fellow Memphis bloggers. Bahama Breeze is giving us an opportunity
to try out some of their new menu items. Come back next week for a Bahama Breeze party giveaway.

Tomorrow morning, if it doesn't rain, we have a baseball game.

Tomorrow night, I'm going to see Pain & Gain featuring The Rock and Mark Wahlberg.

On Sunday, we're attending our town's annual festival, Arlington in April.

It's going to be a fun-filled weekend.

People's Most Beautiful 2013

Eight days after being dubbed the Most Hated Celebrity in a Star magazine poll, Gwyneth Paltrow was chosen by People magazine as the World's Most Beautiful Woman. Star readers actually hate Gwyneth Paltrow more than Chris Brown. So, basically, Star magazine readers are idiots. Along with Gwyneth, People chose nine other fab ladies for their 2013 Most Beautiful list. You can pick up the full issue on newsstands and in stores tomorrow.

Gwyneth Paltrow, 40
Gwyneth feels most beautiful when she's with family.
"Around the house, I'm in jeans and a t-shirt. I don't really wear makeup."

Kerry Washington, 36
While her character is usually unflappable, Kerry finds beauty in how her own life isn't so.
"I don't have to be perfect. All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect journey of my life."

Zooey Deschanel, 33
Zooey believes you define your own beauty.
"I can try to look like other people if I'm playing a role, but I like to serve my own sense of what I think is beautiful.
You have to be true to yourself."

Jane Fonda, 75
Access Hollywood asked Jane to reveal her beauty secrets.
"Good genes and a lot of money."
"If you feel good in your skin, it comes through your eyes and your face and your smile."

Jennifer Lawrence, 22
Jennifer talked to Elle about her near-nude role in X-Men: First Class.
"I knew that if I was going to be naked in front of the world,
I wanted to look like a woman and not a prepubescent 13-year-old boy.
I'm so sick of people thinking that's what we're supposed to look like."

Kelly Rowland, 32
Kelly didn't always believe in her own beauty.
"I went through a period where I didn't embrace just being a chocolate, lovely brown-skinned girl.
Embrace everything that you are as a woman, even your flaws."

Halle Berry, 46
Halle feels her short hair empowers her, but doesn't define her.
"It's just an accessory that I get to wear, like a handbag or shoes."

Drew Barrymore, 38
Drew believes your beauty is reflected by what you feel on the inside.
"Happiness is the best makeup any woman can wear.
It's all about the inside; that's where the poison or the sunshine lays."

Pink, 33
Pink was told she'd never be on magazine covers because she's not pretty enough.
"I'm totally comfortable with that.
I know my strong points. I work hard, I have talent, I'm funny and I'm a good person."

Amanda Seyfried, 27
Amanda is ok with not looking like everyone else.
"I want something different about me. I'd rather not be ordinary looking."

Lovin' Looksima

Have you ever stood in your closet wondering what to wear to an upcoming event?

Three weddings in a row with all the same guests...

You can't possibly wear the same dress again!

Don't know what to wear to an important job interview?

Maybe you need help picking out an outfit for a hot first date...

or just need fashion advice in general.

Looksima is the place for you. They provide professional and affordable stylist services to you via the web. It really is as simple as it sounds. You sign up, answer some style questions and Looksima's stylists will help you figure out what to wear to various events. You can buy the items you like by clicking the direct links provided which will take you directly to the retailer. This is especially great for those who are too busy to shop, or hate walking into crowded department stores. Because, let's be honest, who doesn't love shopping at home in their pajamas?

After I answered their questions, here's what Looksima had to say about me.

You're definitely not the kind of girl who is into ruffles and pink. If you do wear a dress, it is most likely black.

You know how to stay comfortable, but always look stylish.

Stilettos are your irreplaceable weapon.

Well, if that isn't just spot on!

Above is an example of one of the many looks they showed me.

The prices are more than I usually pay, but I did find many other great pieces that cost a lot less.

Want to know what my favorite thing about Looksima is?

There are no fees and absolutely no obligation to buy.

Also, it's just plain fun.

If you'd like to sign up, you can do so here.

The Talk of Tinseltown
Don't Drink + Drive

Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were both arrested on Friday. Jim was reportedly driving in the wrong lane and weaving all over the road. He was pulled over and placed under arrest for DUI. Reese hopped out of the car and argued with police. She even shouted, "Do you know who I am?" She was then arrested for disorderly conduct.

Reese has now released a statement saying she'd had one drink too many and is embarrassed by her behavior. Jim's blood alcohol content was well over the legal limit. Hello, you're rich. Why not hire a driver for nights like this? Rich or not, drinking and driving is dangerous. Call a cab. Call a friend. Don't leave. You know... don't drive.

Sportscaster Al Michaels was also arrested on suspicion of DUI this weekend after officers spotted him making an illegal u-turn. Let's try this again. If you're going to drink, get yourself a designated driver.

Todd Harrell of the band 3 Doors Down was arrested this weekend for vehicular homicide. He was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he hit a truck in Nashville. The other driver, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from his vehicle and later died. Once again, drinking and driving are a deadly combination.

Snoop Lion had a big party this weekend in celebration of 4/20. For those who don't know, April 20th is a holiday for pot smokers. Snoop was cool when the cops had to shut things down after receiving complaints from neighbors.

Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson was in a serious car accident over the weekend. She was taken to the hospital, but escaped with only minor injuries. She's recovering at home, but is said to be extremely sore.

Chrissy Amphlett, lead singer of the Divinyls, has died. Chrissy, who suffered from breast cancer and multiple sclerosis, was 53. The Australian rock band is most famous for their hit, I Touch Myself.

I miss my cheerleader legs.

It's Thursday again. You know what that means.

It's time to visit my past.

I'd like to thank our fabulous hostesses.

And the lovely co-hosts

me & What Jean Likes

Kelly & Misty -- Senior Prom, 1997

I was 18. I was tan. I had cheerleader legs. As you can see, I was very proud of them. Hiked up my dress for everyone to see! The silver beads around my neck were actually decorations from our table. I wore them all night long as a necklace. They hung on my car's rear view mirror for years. Until they broke... It was a sad day.

If you have an old story or old picture, link up below.

All the cool kids are doing it.

2013 MTV Movie Awards Fashion

Even though I'm 34 and a mother of two, I still watched the MTV Movie Awards last night. Rebel Wilson hosted. I really like her, but thought the show was rather boring. Even though they pushed the envelope a few times, I thought most of the jokes were stupid. I'm not in MTV's target audience anymore, but I can certainly laugh at things that are both childish and inappropriate. I just didn't find humor in all the crotch and pubic hair jokes. Does anyone really think that's funny? In the end, I watch to see my favorite celebrities. Adam Sandler was there. Brad Pitt was there. Speaking of Brad, did anyone else think he was looking very Legends of the Fall with his long hair and goatee?

The highlight of the show was Liam Hemsworth premiering The Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailer. I get chills every time I watch. November seems so far away. I can't wait!

As for the fashion, it wasn't that great either.

that braid out of Selena Gomez's hair, and applaud the Kardashian for dressing like a normal person.
