Summer Fun + Baby Blankets

Even though Memphis got the memo early this year, today is officially the first day of summer. This weekend, we have movie plans, dinner plans, outdoor plans, many errands, and our second Vacation Bible School program. I also really need to clean the house and get caught up on laundry. Finding time to do everything has been really hard these days. Dain just finished up baseball and has already gone on to the next sport. That's right -- I'm officially a football mom! Rory starts soccer soon too. Most of our evenings will be spent on a field somewhere, sweating and drinking water. Even though it puts us in a time crunch, I wouldn't have it any other way. I seriously love being a sports mom.

This summer is also going to be about babies, babies and more babies. Every time I look at Facebook, there's another announcement or ultrasound picture. I love shopping for new moms and teeny tiny babies. I like to buy things I know every mom needs. I typically get diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and those handy zippered onesies. Unless I'm pushed for time, I almost always include a personalized baby blanket. Because who doesn't love one of those?

Seriously, how cute are these baby girl blankets?

What's your favorite item to get new mom + baby?

I always say that it takes a special parent to be a sports mom. I have a few friends back home that are true for real deal sports mommas and daddys. I am always like I don't know how you do it but I bet when I have my own, I will get it 100% :)

Yay for football!!

My best friend is pregnant! Everything is still up in the air (long story, but comes down to there are genetic issues that caused her to lose her daughter at 36 wks gestation several years ago), but things are looking promising! I hope this is a Summer of babies!! :)

Such cute blankets. Wyatt's baby blanket from you is amazing. I love that it has his name, and that it's so soft!

I can't believe football and soccer start already for you. It's all fall stuff up here. We signed up Nolan. It'll probably be a disaster, but you can't start until you're five up here, so at least he won't be the only clueless kid. Cute baby stuff! I always end up getting a Boppy and cover. You seriously need a Boppy!
