It's a boy! Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and husband Prince William welcomed their first child today. The baby boy was born at 4:24 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces. A name has not yet been announced for the child, who is now third in line to the throne. The palace said in a statement that the duchess and the baby were doing well and would stay in the hospital overnight. The news was displayed on an ornate wood and gold easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in line with tradition. The bulletin was signed by medical staff and taken by a royal aide from St Mary's to the palace under police escort.
Many people on Facebook and Twitter are complaining. Who cares? Why is this news? Can we talk about something else now? Well, to that I say, why can't it be exciting news for some of us? I'd much rather talk about something positive like the #RoyalBaby instead of listening to someone rant about their bad hair day or the George Zimmerman trial. Just because I'm excited about it doesn't mean you have to be. It doesn't give you the excuse to rain on my sunshiny royal baby day parade though. All you Debbie Downers can kiss my arse.
Now, let's move on to the next big news story, shall we?
What will the royal son's name be?
I've been stuck on George ever since Piers Morgan tweeted it.
How about George Alexander? It has a nice ring to it.
I'm sure whatever they choose will be lovely and way better than North West.
