It's a Royal Baby... BOY!

It's a boy! Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and husband Prince William welcomed their first child today. The baby boy was born at 4:24 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces. A name has not yet been announced for the child, who is now third in line to the throne. The palace said in a statement that the duchess and the baby were doing well and would stay in the hospital overnight. The news was displayed on an ornate wood and gold easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in line with tradition. The bulletin was signed by medical staff and taken by a royal aide from St Mary's to the palace under police escort.

Many people on Facebook and Twitter are complaining. Who cares? Why is this news? Can we talk about something else now? Well, to that I say, why can't it be exciting news for some of us? I'd much rather talk about something positive like the #RoyalBaby instead of listening to someone rant about their bad hair day or the George Zimmerman trial. Just because I'm excited about it doesn't mean you have to be. It doesn't give you the excuse to rain on my sunshiny royal baby day parade though. All you Debbie Downers can kiss my arse.

Now, let's move on to the next big news story, shall we?

What will the royal son's name be?

I've been stuck on George ever since Piers Morgan tweeted it.

How about George Alexander? It has a nice ring to it.

I'm sure whatever they choose will be lovely and way better than North West.

I think it's WONDERFUL news, they're a lovely couple, I think William will be a wonderful father - and if you can't be happy about a new baby, then what can you be happy about, FGS??!!

And I was so sure it was a girl!! I wonder if William will be seen tonight? Maybe...probably a couple of days until we see the baby though, that's going to be lovely :)

I think George too!! It would be a very appropriate name for a future King, it was the Queen's father's name and it's a great British name!!

I am excited - I was excited all day to hear. I honestly love this stuff. I was never into Di - I KNOW perish the thought but I just didn't get into it.

I was all over the TV during the wedding - so I love this stuff. I can't wait to hear the name!!!

1) I'm with you - at least it's something positive. America hates positive, you know.

2) I'm ready to know his name too.

the other day I read that they like Leo for a boy name. but can't believe everything we read. Prince Leo sounds cute though.

I have been excited all day. I have been checking my Us Weekly app religiously for weeks. I love baby news! And I agree - name will no doubt be better than North!

I totally agree! We could all stand to hear more happy news these days. I've been following along all day and it's exciting. I like the name Spencer for a boy, especially since that was Diana's maiden name.

I was happy for them and don't get why people are so weird about it. Sure, they make it a huge deal but it's fun and way better than bad news all the time!

I, for one, am SO excited for the Royal Baby and get really mad when people want to dismiss it. I am so tired of the media being negative. I cannot believe the behavior of people in my state over the ZImmerman trial. It's not about race and I am SICK of hearing about it. I am sick of political rants. I am sick of hearing everyone talking about how there's no excuse not to exercise. I have an effin' disease so yea, there's an excuse.
Anyway ... I was so happy for a bit of happy news. I love them, I think it's a true story fairy tale and I can't get enough of it!

I am excited for this baby and all the amazing photos. I like both of them. Also, he shares a birthday with Joe which means he'll be badass.

I was also excited for it. I'm glad to see something positive like a baby in the 24 hour news cycle world we live in. They have such a fairy tale love story, lets just celebrate that!

I dont understand all the nasty comments in facebook and twitter either, I'm not crazy about the royal, family but it's good news and they seem like a nice couple. I like the name Louis.... A little bit more unusual than normal and also my dads middle name! X

I was super excited for the Royal Baby.

I like the idea of naming him George, too.

I'm in attendance at your sunshiny royal baby day parade! I love this stuff. I hope they work Harry into the name somehow. Poor (lucky?) Prince Harry doesn't have anything to do with the throne. At least give him a shout out!
