Summer is over.

When I was a kid, summer was three months long. We got out of school in early May and went back after Labor Day. Now, kids are lucky if they get a full two months. My littles have already been back at it for over a week. Dain's back at it in second grade. Ro is in preschool three days a week. Up until now, she's been staying with my mother-in-law. She's excited to finally be going to big kid school.

I remember having a full 3 months too. Bless them for rocking it out on such a short summer break. They look adorable on their first day back.

School is about to start here too. Do you think they are pushing for it to be full time all year with breaks?

It does seem like summer is getting shorter and shorter. Boomer goes back next Wednesday! Your littles are adorable!

This whole going-back-before-Labor-Day thing is so weird to me. Why can't it be like the old days?

They are so cute! I hope they're having fun so far. Nolan is pretty excited for pre-K.

Depending on when Labor Day falls, we either go back 2 days before or 2 days after it. But, we don't get out of school till mid-June. I remember having longer summers, but kids these days are hardly in school during the year anymore. So many teacher days, half days, long weekends, etc.
