Renee Zellweger isn't 25 anymore,
and that's ok.

Social media blew up yesterday with people talking about Renee Zellweger's face. I don't know what the big deal is. She's beautiful and can do whatever she wants with her own face and body. Whether we age gracefully or pay for beauty, it's our decision to make. Being happy and comfortable in our own skin is what truly makes us beautiful. She's not 25 anymore, and you know what, that's ok.

"I'm glad folks think I look different!
I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows."

"I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn't allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things."

"I did work that allows for being still, making a home, loving someone, learning new things,
growing as a creative person and finally growing into myself."

"People don't know me in my 40s. Perhaps I look different. Who doesn't as they get older?"

I agree, I think that this photo was a bit unflattering of her, and comparing her to her much younger self just seems wrong. She's still lovely, even if I want to hold her down and fix her brows, she's a lovely, lovely lady and I think she's still looks amazing!

But can we please discuss the brows? If she was at the supermarket I'd be OK with it but she's on a red carpet :)

I don't care that she did what she felt was right for her and that she resorted to plastic surgery to feel better about herself.

I'm sad for her that she just looks ordinary now, and that nothing about her look particularly stands out. It's sort of like Jennifer Grey's nose job. She's pretty, but she's no longer unique.

She looks like a completely different person! Still gorgeous, but if I had seen her out in public, I would have no idea who she was.

I really think it was just an unflattering look or bad day. These articles and before and after photos circulated last fall too. (http://hollywoodlife.com/2013/11/04/renee-zellweger-plastic-surgery-long-shot-movie-premiere/) She just looks like she lost a lot of weight. I'm sure going up and down for Bridget Jones caused a lot of premature aging and when she lost her full face, she instantly looked older. I could care less what kind of procedures people do to make themselves feel better. Boobs, face, lipo, lasers. It's your money and your body! Unfortunately drastic changes can cost you work in Hollywood, which is sad. I think it was shocking for people that haven't seen her in a while, but it's not THAT bad. I always thought she was adorable.

The point so many were trying to make, was that she was completely unrecognisable from just a few years ago.

It wasn't about ageing, or plastic surgery or anything else, it was why does she look so different that we don't know who she is.

I think ET or Extra did a split screen of her with a pic from a few years ago and one of those from last week. You could definitely tell there was something different about her eyes. Whether she stopped the botox, had a lift, whatever, it made her so different we all had to ask two, three times who it was. And that itself shows it's more than "just ageing" because we all age and still look like ourselves. She doesn't and that's what people don't understand.
